Why? Now there is a question asked over and over again. Why is there suffering in the world? Why is the sky blue? Why do my rats always eat their noodles late at night when I’m trying to go to sleep?

And why would I make a shrine to Nehelenia?

Well, originally when I first made it, back in the fall of ’99, it seemed like the thing to do at the time. Nothing more, nothing less. I think it took me one day to make the website. It hasn’t changed much in the time, mostly some added images, a layout update, a title change, and lots of server changes.

So why do I keep it when I have deleted so many of my other shrines? Well, in all the hubbub of fangirls squealing over Sailormoon’s cronies, not that I don’t love them, and the popular Quartet, Nehelenia is neglected as just the evil Queen of the Dead Moon Circus. I think she’s beautiful, even in with her snake-like eyes and her attack-of-the-killer-hair. Her story is reflective and eerily beautiful, not to mention Chibi-Nehelenia is just too cute for words... cuter than Chibiusa if you ask me. I keep it because I like her, and she doesn’t really demand that much attention. Just the little effort I give her goes a long way.

Unfortunately I don't really surf Sailormoon content very often. I don't know if there are any more Nehelenia shrines up. I doubt it as everyone has moved towards fanlistings and general resources.

For January 2006, Nethermoon and I were awarded for Site of the Month. On the website the author that awarded us with this honour said the following: "Nethermoon is a beautifully dedicated site to the one and only Queen Nehelenia. Not only is the site dedicated to this angsty queen but the layout is also very gorgeous. Feast your eyes and your brain on Nethermoon's indepth shrine." I was truly shocked to be given an award, because in all the years I've had this website I've never recieved one. So, hurray! An award!

Around the internet I've seen a couple Nehelenia sprites/dolls and Neh-related things. I couldn't help but adopt them. :D
